Aftertones of Infinity By Joseph Schwantner

This orchestral work is one of Joseph Schwantner's greatest achievements, and was the recipient of the 1979 Pulitzer Prize in Music. The piece is a prime example of the composer's masterful coloration skills, and uses a very large orchestra along with textures like wordless vocalizing and tuned crystal glasses. The piece overlays static, ethereal sections with dark, rhythmic ones, and conjures of images of otherworldly, immense spaces. I hope you enjoy this masterpiece by Joseph Schwantner. :-)
