The remastered & expanded edition of The Bad Seeds' 4th album, originally released in 1985. The culmination of their juxtaposition of experimental post-punk & noise rock with outlaw blues & bastard gospel, I consider this to not only be their magnum opus, but one of the most perfect musical works of all time. To counteract all the rowdiness carried over from their Birthday Party heyday, there's an eloquent maturity to the emotional insight in the lyrics and a grace to the more subdued, introspective numbers. Maybe the most unsung masterpiece in the entire rock canon.
